Drake Wants To Play Role Of Obama On Film

"For those who didn't know, Drake was an actor on the Canadian T.V. show "Degrassi: The Next Generation" before he blew up as a rapper. Recently he's been vocal about getting back to acting and what sort of roles he'd like to take on.

At the Sundance Film Festival Drake told VH1 he'd be interested in portraying Barack Obama on the big screen,"I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him. That's the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don't change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I'm pretty good at impressions.""

Tyga Speaks On Features Included In "Careless World"

"Tyga spoke briefly to XXL about his upcoming album, "Careless World: Rise Of The Last King," dropping February 21st. Check what he had to say below.

Awhile back he tweeted about a possible Nas feature, which he spoke on, as well as other features:
“Yeah man, I sent Nas a song like six months ago and I never heard back from him but out of the blue, he called me like, ‘Yo, you doing your thing. I want to be a part of what you doing, I like everything you doing. Keep working hard,” Tyga shared. “I sent him the ‘Kings and Queens’ that night and he did it the next day. I was like, that shit is crazy. Nas always talks that shit. The song, man, [his bars] added the cherry on top. It’s a real classic song. People are gonna like it. I wanna think of a dope video. The storyline of the song, the whole King and Queens [theme], it’s motivational.”

There will also be a Nicki Minaj feature: “The song for Nicki is called ‘Muthafucka Up,’” he said. “I don’t know what they gonna call it on the radio. Maybe they might call it ‘Up.’ That one is one of them going in type songs. Like how Wayne had ‘A Milli.’ One of those Young Money records that people love. We got a crazy visual for that one, too. I don’t wanna give it away. I’ve been doing a lot of features for everyone.”"

Billboard reports that Ne-Yo, formerly with Def Jam, is moving to Motown Records. He plans to bring his Compound Entertainment label with him for the move, and in addition he will take on the roles of senior VP of A&R of Motown.

The chairman/CEO of Universal Republic and Island Def Jam Motown, Barry Weiss, commented on the move saying, "this move to Motown will provide new and inspiring challenges for Ne-Yo as both an artist and a key member of the new senior management team that is taking form at the label in 2012."

Mary J. Blige ‘Saddened’ by Oscar Snub

"Mary J. Blige didn’t hear her name called when nominations for the 84th Annual Academy Awards were announced today. The disappointed singer took to Twitter to address the snub.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul was considered a front-runner in the Best Original Song category for “The Living Proof,” the ballad she penned for The Help. The film was nominated in major categories including Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress, but shut out of the music categories.

Blige, who rose bright and early for the live announcement, thanked her supporters and expressed her disappointment with the news. “I’m so thankful for true fans like you all. It saddens me & feels like the Academy is being mean. 2 only nominate 2 of the 5 slots is…….” she wrote before retweeting reactions from her fans.

The category, which typically sees four to five nominees, only had two this year. Sergio Mendes and Carlinhos Brown were recognized for “Real in Rio” from the animated film Rio and Bret McKenzie received a nod for “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets.

Blige was previously nominated at this year’s Golden Globes, but lost in the category to Madonna."

Chelsea Handler Talks Breakup with 50 Cent, Slams Mariah Carey

"Chelsea Handler is used to asking the questions, but the blonde comedienne was the one in the hot seat on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on Monday (Jan. 23). The talk show host got candid when speaking about her relationship with 50 Cent and had some choice words for Mariah Carey.

“He’s actually a lot different than you would think. He’s really sweet,” Handler said of the hip-hop star, who she dated briefly in 2010. “I thought it was kind of amusing that I would even be with 50 Cent. I thought it was funny.”

Her Hollywood pals including Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon were fascinated by their romance. “My friends all loved him, my friends fell in love with him,” she said. “They loved that I was dating him. They were like, ‘Chelsea, come on.’ They were both laughing really hard at it… I mean, everyone was.”

But things went sour after one of 50’s ex-girlfriends, rumored to be Ciara, appeared on her show. “We dated for a couple months and then we had a falling out,” she explained. “One of his ex-girlfriends was coming onto my show.”

According to Handler, 50 warned her that his ex still had feelings for him, but she didn’t want to hear it.

“It was just so juvenile, I was at work,” said Handler before hurling insults his way. “Whatever I called him was probably the worst thing you could say to a black person, short of calling him the N-word. I said you’re like a street person, basically, something along the lines of being a gangster. It was really, really offensive and I hung up and I’ve never spoken to him again.”

50 wasn’t her only victim. Handler also lashed out at Mariah Carey. “She’s worse than Elizabeth Taylor,” she said. “She’s just so ridiculous with her body. You see her one day and she’s like 50 pounds heavier or lighter. I mean, what is she doing? I don’t even understand what hemisphere people like that operate in. There’s nothing real about her and her Hello Kitty whatever…”"

Birdman Bets $5 Million Dollars On The New England Patriots To Beat The New York Giants In Super Bowl 46

Stunna successfully bet $1 million dollars on the Packers to win last season. He's upping the ante this year by putting down $5 million on the Patriots to beat the New York Giants.

Diddy to Launch Music-Themed Cable Network "Revolt"

"Can’t stop, won’t stop. Sean “Diddy” Combs is expanding his entertainment empire. The Bad Boy mogul is planning to launch a music-themed cable network at the end of the year, according to several sources.

Broadcasting & Cable reports that Diddy’s new channel will be called Revolt and is aiming to go live on 12/12/12.

Former MTV programming chief Andy Schuon is reportedly involved with the well-funded venture. He previously headed a music channel called International Music Feed (IMF).

Diddy has been in talks with Comcast and Time Warner Cable to distribute Revolt, which is being described as a music and music news channel with an urban skew. One source likened it to the old days of MTV, but catered to an African-American audience.

Diddy’s Bad Boy office did not confirm reports, but a Time Warner Cable spokesperson said they have had “some discussions” regarding the network."

When the site was shutdown on Thursday, January 19th, several employees were arrested, however Swizz was not named in any legal documents."

Super Bowl Rematch - Giants vs Patriots

"Remember the 2007 season?  How can we forget that year? George W. Bush was President, Hillary Clinton was the front-runner for the Democratic nomination and Barry Bonds became the MLB’s all-time home run leader.

Seems like a lifetime ago.

The New England Patriots finished the 2007 season 16-0 and won two more playoff games on their way to the Super Bowl in February of 2008.

The New York Giants scuttled into the playoffs as a wild card, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, upsetting the Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers all on the road.

Then the unthinkable… The undefeated and heavily favored New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants on a last minute touchdown pass to WR Plaxico Burress.

America was stunned and the Giants became an inspirational David & Goliath type story.
Best Sports Pix of the Week

This Sunday’s games and their results take us back nearly 5 years to a rematch that Patriots fans and some Giants fans couldn’t have dreamed would ever happen again.

Patriots Slide by Ravens on Botched Field Goal

Just when it looked like the Baltimore Ravens were going push themselves back into the Super Bowl or at least OT, K Billy Cundiff’s kick went wide left with: 11 seconds on the clock to give the New England Patriots franchise their 7th appearance in the big game and QB Tom Brady his 5th Super Bowl appearance.

Sure Brady wasn’t his usual bouncy haired self as he threw for two interceptions and no TD passes.  But his 1 yd touchdown run at the beginning of the fourth proved to be all he needed to secure the win and put him on top of yet another memorable playoff battle.

Backup TE Aaron HernĂ¡ndez had 7 receptions for 66 yards.

The Ravens were so close, but yet so far.

Giants Battle the 49ers, Win in OT

In one of the most evenly matched games I’ve ever seen, the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants battled for 60 minutes to a 17-17 tie in the rain.

In OT however, backup return man Kyle Williams, who earlier muffed a punt to set up a Giants score, was stripped of the ball and the Giants recovered in field goal range.

With just over 7 minutes to go in OT, Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes kicked a 31 yarder to put the Giants into the Super Bowl and in a rematch with the New England Patriots.

What’s Different from 2008?

Well the Giants came in hot just like 2008 and are looking to upset the Patriots but this time the Patriots are not caught up in all the cockiness and glow of a possible 19-0 season.  The Patriots lost three times this season and once was to the New York Giants.  Hard to believe but I think that’s an advantage to the Pats.

So congratulations to the fickle New York fan and press who get two more weeks to whine and moan then jump on the bandwagon.  Congratulations to the spoiled New England fan whose team has stayed a contender for the majority of the 2000s.

It’s a good old’ fashioned rematch and it should be interesting.

As for those of us wishing for the Harbaugh bowl that never came, don’t be so hard on Kyle Williams or Billy Cundiff.  Imagine being in their position, we should only hope for the best for them next season.

Victor Garcia is a Fox News Channel contributor."

Kanye West Headlines Australia’s Big Day Out Festival

"Fresh off his appearance at Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West jetted to the Land Down Under for his headlining performance at the Big Day Out festival on the Gold Coast. Yeezy showed up 45 minutes late, attributing the delay to the rain when he finally took the Blue Stage. Clad in his Céline blouse and gold chains, he performed an epic set with ballerinas, explosions, and stadium anthems. His journey through Australia continues, with upcoming dates in Sydney and Melbourne."

Kanye West: The Anatomy Of A Twitter Spree

"Kanye West has never had a shortage of ideas, and on Wednesday night into Thursday morning (January 5), the rap star spoke — or, rather, wrote — his mind on Twitter in a 91-message manifesto.

'Ye, who is currently in London, went off on a gang of topics, including his women's fashion line, the Grammys, his design dreams for the MTV Video Music Awards and the vision for his new 22-division company, DONDA. Unorganized but informative, Yeezy put the string of tweets into context on his 39th post, writing: "This is just a train of thought .. but figure it's better to read than trained thoughts."

If you had trouble following 'Ye's 24-hour stream of creative consciousness, don't worry — MTV News has you covered with this breakdown:

Wednesday, 1 p.m.
A gracious Yeezy takes to Twitter to thank everyone for supporting his women's fashion line, which he unveiled in Paris back in October. Two hours later, 'Ye corrects reports that the line is called DW.

Key Tweet: "The name of the line is Kanye West not DW... The Dw was a design element placed on the invite in homage to my mom : )"

Wednesday, 7 p.m.
With plenty of time lapses between tweets, no one could have guessed what West had in store in the hours to come. He clearly started off slow, quoting Da Vinci for his fourth tweet of the day.

Key Tweet: " 'Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.' - Leonardo Da Vinci"

Wednesday, 9 p.m.
This just in: Kanye West is without representation after Cara Lewis got her Jerry Maguire on.

Key Tweet: "More clarity... I have no agency representing me currently... William Morris was fired after Cara lewis quit. I love Cara Lewis : )"

Wednesday, 11 p.m.
West picks up the action. Inspired by his fashion workspace, Yeezy talks about how challenging and fun it is to work on clothing designs. It's been an eight-year journey for the Louis Vuitton Don, who turned down offers to do an urban clothing line in favor of something more upscale. How are his fashion endeavors funded, you ask? All the Kanye concert tickets you've bought, of course.

Key Tweet: "I did the first fashion show out of my own pocket and used the money I made touring to follow my passion."

Wednesday, midnight
'Ye goes on a tear during the midnight hour, sending a whopping 48 tweets. It was approximately 5 a.m. in London, and Kanye couldn't sleep because his dreams kept him "woke." And what dreams he has. The rapper recounts his days hopping from Japan to Rome to Paris, interning at Fendi, working with Louis Vuitton, being courted by Versace and designing his Air Yeezys for Nike. What, you thought West was a newbie to the fashion game? No, he learned how to design shoes at the Giuseppe Zanotti factory and broke bread with fashion luminaries like Azzedine AlaĂ¯a. Things weren't all good, though. The Chicago MC/producer admits that the language barrier in Paris hindered him some.

West rattles on, reminiscing about the times he spent fur shopping with his mother, Donda West, who died in 2007. Kanye then reveals that he was in talks to become a creative director for a possible "Jetsons" Movie. (West ..."Heartless" video.) West showcased art inspired by the iconic animated series in his 2008 "Heartless" video.

Of course, no Yeezy rant would be complete without some type of Grammy commentary, and this time, the outspoken rapper noted that he appreciated all his 2012 nominations

The biggest news of the night came when Kanye announced that he had started a 22-division design company called DONDA. He hopes DONDA will group free thinkers and various professionals in a creative space to help simplify and improve the human experience. The company's mission: "To marry our wants and needs," West writes.

Key Tweet: "DONDA will be comprised of over 22 divisions with a goal to make products and experiences that people want and can afford..."

Thursday, 1 a.m.
Continuing to detail his DONDA experience, 'Ye says the Watch the Throne Tour, with its stunning visual cubes, was just a small part of what the company can do. He aims to one day present seven screens onstage. He's taking 10 steps at a time, he said, with plans to design for the 2016 Olympics and the MTV Video Music Awards — imagine that!

Before ending his day of Twitter enlightenment, a compassionate 'Ye turns his attention toward education, writing that he and "Otis" video director and noted filmmaker Spike Jonze want to create a summer school that experiments with new curriculums for children. Why can't kids use iPhones while taking tests? Yeezy wonders.

He hasn't bought a chain or a car in two years, Kanye writes. Instead, he reinvests his dollars into creativity and his grand scheme to change the world for the better.

Key Tweet: "We need to take what Michael Jackson felt and [Alexander] Mcqueen and Steve Jobs and we need make things better...""

“Part of the fun of making this movie is definitely the costumes and the hairstyles,” the 48-year-old diva tells PEOPLE. “The movie is set in 1963, and we had a great wardrobe, hair and makeup person and I loved wearing the outfits.”

Sparks makes her film debut alongside Houston. “She was so cool and very motherly toward me,” says the 22-year-old “American Idol” winner, who plays a singer who hits it big. “If I ever looked like I needed something, here she came saying ‘Are you okay?’”
Sparkle, which marks Houston’s first big-screen role since The Preacher’s Wife in 1996, opens in theaters on August 10."

Jay-Z's Newly Renovated 40/40 Club Shut Down By New York Health Inspectors After Racking Up 69 Food Violation Points

"One day after a grand re-opening that featured A-list guests like Warren Buffet, Spike Lee, Lance Bass and Russell Simmons, Jay-Z's 40/40 Club was shut down by New York's Health Department Thursday (January 19).

Among the violations seen by health inspectors according to the New York Post, included a worker mixing salsa with his bare hands. Five pounds of cooked mashed potatoes left out at a temperature of 89F, while 10 pounds of cooked rice and 50 turkey burgers were kept at 67F. All the hot foods should be at least 140F.

In addition to those violations, the refrigerator was at a rancid 60F instead of 41F, putting at jeopardy the safety of 50 pounds of raw chicken wings, five pounds of raw shrimp and 100 turkey burgers.

If you have a walk-in place with food like this, you put a hell of a lot of people at risk,” said a source. “A night of dinner and dancing should not include the risk of contracting food-borne illness.

Club patrons already inside the establishment were allowed to stay, but new customers were turned away.

Although the problems were corrected and the club was allowed to open again for business on Friday, there could be big trouble looming for the establishment.

The club was given 69 violation points. Only 28 violations points are needed for a restaurant to be given the worst possible "C" grade. Restaurants with a "C" grade are forced to post a "C" in their storefront windows which is horrible for business.

"It's killing us," a host at Reme Restaurant told the New York Daily News of the dreaded "C" grade. "People see the C and they walk away."

During an inspection of Hov's 40/40 club in February 2011, it "racked up 39 violation points for problems including improperly handled food and unsanitary conditions."

It's not a good sign for a club that just underwent $10 million dollars in renovations. It will be adjudicated at a hearing next month."

Ex-Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno Dies At Age 85 R.I.P

"State College, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- Joe Paterno, whose tenure as the most successful coach in major college football history ended abruptly in November amid allegations that he failed to respond forcefully enough to a sex abuse scandal involving a former assistant, died Sunday, a family spokesman said. He was 85.

The longtime Penn State head coach was diagnosed with what his family had called a treatable form of lung cancer shortly after the university's Board of Trustees voted to fire him.

He had been hospitalized in December after breaking his pelvis in a fall at his home and again in January for what his son called minor complications from his cancer treatments.

"It is with great sadness that we announce that Joe Paterno passed away earlier today," the family statement said. "His loss leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled."

Paterno, who was affectionately known as "JoePa" by generations of his players and football fans alike, was widely admired in football circles for what he called his "Grand Experiment" -- his expectation that big-time college football players could succeed on the field while upholding high academic and moral standards away from the gridiron.

Under his leadership, the Nittany Lions won two national championships, went undefeated five times and finished in the top 25 national rankings 35 times, according to his official Penn State biography.

At the same time, the program never fell under NCAA sanctions for major infractions while producing 13 Academic All-Americans since 2006. In 2009, according to the university, the Nittany Lions posted an 85% graduation rate.

"The acclaim for Joe Paterno has stemmed largely from the contrast between the high academic and moral standards he has tried to exemplify and the shameless conduct that often embarrasses and dishonors the college sport he cherishes," author Michael O'Brien wrote in a 1999 biography of Paterno, "No Ordinary Joe."

Paterno was born in 1926 in Brooklyn to second-generation Italian immigrants, according to O'Brien's book.

He attended Brown University, where he played quarterback and cornerback, according to another Penn State biography.

He coached at Penn State as an assistant from 1950 to 1965 and became head coach in 1966.

Decked out in his soon-to-become trademark thick glasses, white socks and sneakers, Paterno quickly became a memorable fixture on the football field, leading the Nittany Lions to undefeated seasons in 1968, 1969 and again in 1973 and the first national championship of his tenure in 1982."
